Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s thoughts on Indian Education.

National Education Day is observed on 11th November every year, since 2008, to commemorate the birth anniversary of independent India’s first education minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad who served from 15 August, 1947 until 2 February 1958 as India’s first education minister. He played a significant role in shaping the education system of the country. During his tenure, the UGC, AICTE, Kharagpur Institute of higher education, the University education commission, and the Secondary education commission were set up. Mr. Azad also contributed very important role for the establishment of educational institutes like Jamia Millia Islamia and IIT Kharagpur.

On the eve of National Education day and the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, USWA has organized a conference on Maulana Azad’s thoughts and his contribution in Indian Education. Many of our members and local villagers were part of this seminar and we have completed the seminal successfully. USWA feels privileged and tanksful for the participation of the members and other villagers for this fruitful discussion. We hope to continue for this type of conferences in near future.
